The United States were the best country of the swimming competitions of the 2012 Olympic Games, with a total of 31 medals, 16 gold. The US were the country which won most medals in a single sport at London 2012 olympics. In 34 events, US swimmers won medals in 27 of them, missing the podium in only 7 events.
